India and Pakistan got independence on 1947. British government divided the landmass and defined the border between two nations. River Jhelum was used as the border. The same decision was agreed by both countries. Due to this many town and villages were abandoned, one of them is a village POLAS

Later India and Pakistan fought 4 wars for Kashmir. The first one was in 1947. More than 2 million people died in that war and the water of the river turned red. This memorial tries to illustrate the loss of Kashmiri people.

Forms, structure, and materials are inspired from Indo-Pak architecture style.
